April Ross
April Ross is only one of the beach volleyball players to have won medals multiple times at an Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games and will attempt to win her third gold medal. Ross will also be hoping for her very first Olympic medal. It may well be that it is her last chance at winning, as she's 39 old. However, she's convinced that top prizes can be achieved. Ross said on NBC Boston: "If we perform our best and playing well I'm sure we'll get the gold medal." "I'm also going to try to have a bit of luck." Ross born in 1982 and lived within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began participating in sports at the Newport Harbor High School. Apart from playing in numerous sports, Ross was also a student at Newport Harbor High School. While a prep student she played the indoor game of volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running track. She was definitely the best player in indoor volleyball. In her time at high school, she played middle blocker outside hitter and setter at the tennis court per her college bio. Her achievements were rewarded by her being named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions Players of the Year. The year 2000 was the time she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. While Ross and Klineman are in the spotlight since the year 2017, Klineman had already been a major athlete on the beach prior to their team. She's won big competitions with different players. The other is an icon in the volleyball world. Ross teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's coach. Together, Kessy Ross, she was a major force on the international stage, claiming the world championship in 2009. In the 2012 Olympic Games, they received a gold medal. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team to beat for the gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor when she retired. The team won bronze in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC during her college days, prior to becoming a professional. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was remarkable. In 2000, as a freshman she earned Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year accolades. She also was also an All-American. She also helped her Trojans to reach the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal loss in her sophomore year and yet she went on to repeat her place as an All-American. In her last two seasons as a member of the Trojans team the team was led to victories by winning successive national titles. In her own way, she cemented her place in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the best female college volleyball players in the United States. Ross was a major in the field of international relations in USC. Unfortunately Ross mother Margie was not able to witness her daughter ascend to the very top of beach volleyball fame. Ross's mom died from breast carcinoma in the year 2001. Ross had just become an undergraduate student in the second year at USC. She continues to hold her lost parent near and close. Margie is an inspiration on and off of the shore.
