Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She is the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has worked as a journalist, TV personality as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than ten years. Her role also includes being the owner of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Originating from Greece she moved to England at the age of sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she went on to become the voice of Huffington Post. The celebrity she enjoyed enabled her to get a variety of famous people to share their opinions regarding current affairs, the culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent in California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of a Detroit initiative to encourage vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes named her as one of the "most influential women" in media, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media group in 2011 after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter of Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. They were very close to her father, but it was her bond with her mother which shaped her. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities that she's still known for. At 16 years of age she moved back to United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college she was a member of the Cambridge Union's colleges debating societies, which she later became the first foreign female president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was awarded. She became a writer, a critic, a TV host as well as a columnist following her graduation. She also appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editing assistance.
