Despacito is a hit song from Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi together with Daddy Yankee was released in 2017. The song became the number one music streamed at the time within six month. Justin Bieber's bilingual remake of Despacito was released in 2017. Then, popular artists began working with reggaeton performers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) while Madonna has collaborated with Maluma on Medellin. In the year 2020, some Reggaeton artists were complaining about the direction of the genre towards the mainstream. In contrast, a young generation, Rauw Alejandro was determined to push forward the progression. He often included elements from different genres as well as electronic dance.
